About Me

I am a former Peace Corps Volunteer and staff member. I have had wonderful professional opportunities: I was Director of International Programs for Special Olympics and a college counselor, teacher, and coach at the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. Now, I am a writer and photographer living in Chestertown on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. My work has appeared in the Washington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Washington College Alumni Magazine, and American Cowboy Magazine.

My new novel “This Salted Soil,” a children’s book “The Ballad of Poochie McVay” (with illustrations by Lesley Schless), and two collections of my weekly essays (“Musing Right Along” and “I’ll Be Right Back”) are available on Amazon.
